Rhetorical/Tin Man
Dreams hatch in fantasy, seems I can't unmask sanity
Path is paved with cracks that snatched me from humanity
Tin sheet patched to hollowed chest and rusted rivets
Among unforgiving rain spouts, clouds, & busted spigots
Disgusted bigot, often lust to 'feel' what love was
Slumped under the sun with my axe slung in a tree stump
Void thumps and echoes of creaking weak knees
Screams go unanswered for God to beseech me
Pleas to be free, from permanent binds and cuffs
To pixilated pastel skies winding through nights dusk
Musty sights seen through eye's that hinged up
As tears slump my jaw-line, just rust, & mend shut
Wake up to bitter mornings to cringe at liquid dew
That slither through compartment seams, and loose screws
For the few basic emotions I caught in empty cries
"If only I had a heart"
So it would stop beating and let me DIE
bye OZ.
Sammy/Scarecrow
He's a grass head, if one was to mildly put it
his smile, crooked, aligning with his wild outlook
switch scene..
jansport bag, filthy green..
stressed jeans gesturing - essence of midteen
Hookie! grunged ballad challenge establishment;
Cobain's malcontent; he's clad up in rip tee
"This is me!" he'd exclaim
perhaps a glimpse, A quick peek...
between words, were spaces,
a verdant journey he'd beseech
yellow brick road, purple hills, patches of green leaves
journeyed on rocket fueled angst
the mundane turns into mean streak
"he's smoking his life away"
the snapes weren't just skin deep
ivory sentiments clamping the nape of his neck
shaking 'til his think tank
attains the depth of the deep sea,
entrenched in his Mariana
experimenting with green leaves
"He's a straw head"
He grins. His apathy ablaze
"Really is a shame, Patty,
if only he had a brain"
SELF/The Wizard
I'm the Great & Powerful Wizard from the mystical land of Oz
My minons are imprisoned but they can't perceive the bars
Cos they focus on the witches while I trick em with the fog
All these switches and these knobs, an inventor and a fraud
A magician, not a god, a con man at odds wit his itty bitty heart
Who had entered a dimension that our physicists forgot!
Yes it came as such a shock to see a flying monkey
Or a lion that could talk! I ain't lying I was lost
Until I met the Munchkins and decided I was boss
They were feeble and naive, they believed anything
Like a crooked charlatan could really be their king
I decreed: "I'm supreme" and in honor of my greed
The entire Emerald City was a filthy money green
But to keep em in this dream I had to hatch a scheme
Thus I planted poppy seeds next to iowaska trees
So every time they breathed they be seeping in deceit
As I secretly would meet with the Wicked Witch of East
On the surface it would seem we were curseth enemies
But behind my dirty curtain we were flirty as can be
She would slurp me like a drink, it was perfect & unique
Until a girl from Kansas caused a certain murder scene
And stole the Rubby Slippers off of Evanora's feet
As my paranoia peaked I had this clairvoyant dream
That this purdy little thief was worthy of defeat
By a sturdy guillotine; so trust me I won't sleep
Until her head fuckin rolls & leaves a bloody streak
Down the Yellow Brick Road!
