I smoke and I don't mind this. I need to quit anyway. It's a disgusting habit that will kill you, if something else doesn't get you first.

Hence Forward
axis powers
Because they both involve property rights. There should be no smoking ban or ban on hiring practices. In both instances the owner has a right to manage the business in the manner they see fit.Not hiring people because they smoke
VS
Not allowing people to smoke in a business
How is that even the same thing?
ive read enough to know that your view on this is contradictory to most of your views you express on here....
and as far as this shit in general, saying "you can avoid smoking", and "smokers cost companys healthcare"....fuck does that have to do with anything???
instead of discriminating against smokers by not even employing them you can simply not provide them health care....
the only job i can see where its reasonable is in a hospital or nursing home...anything similar....
driving over the speed limit endangers you, so all speeders shouldnt be employed because they could cost their company healthcare money...
doing your own home improvements can be dangerous, so anyone who fixes their own shit shouldnt be employed....
sleeping for more than 6-8 hours can usually leave you groggy and not as useful as you would be otherwise, so anyone who does that should not be employed....
if you drink alcohol, you should not be employed.....
if you do any type of sports, injuries can opccur, which can cost your company money, so you should not be employed....
wtf?

it really isnt about what i "wanna believe"....
this is oppressive to people who smoke cigarettes.....
when have i ever seen you agree with any form of oppression?? that hasnt happened...until now...
smoking cigarettes doesent make you a bad person, or any less useful to society...its completely unreasonable from any angle i look at it...
i dont even smoke cigarettes anymore and it still makes me mad that shit like this is actually even considered in congress and state senates...

Oppression involves some kind of force. Taking a job is a voluntary act.
i think this is dumb for a couple of reasons.
1. would you really wanna miss out on someone who could be one of the best employees you've ever had just because they smoke?
2. i don't see where smoking would hurt a person's job performance unless they are involved in something that involves rigorous activity and even then that still might not effect them. i use to smoke everyday on my job, we use to stand up everyday for 8 hours actively moving etc. i never use to get shortness of breathe, nor did it stop me from being good at my job.
your job shouldn't be able to effect what you do on your time off, especially if it's nothing that directly effects them
I believe i'm making some good music, please just wait for me
