Gin Rummy

Well, we can both be curious,
about two completely different, possibly related things.
But it still leaves us at a stand still.
So I will stand, and you will sit...
Eyes affixed, never making contact.
Cause, that would be a breach of contract.

One of us will give. One of us will let go.
Not to be nice, and let the other know.
But curiosity, does... well, you know.

Say what you will about time,
but she does not pass so quick,
once she has said it's only a matter of it.

Small talk turns into shop.
Suddenly Kings and Queens
become a wild card.

But a game of cat and mouse
can only last for so long.
Before someone brings a pig into the picture
to blow over the house.

So what's it going to be?
Go fish, go fish?
I can never tell with your pokerface.
You're playing Gin,
And I'm still stuck on Rummy.

I like this... I pictured/heard someone talking softly and a bit aloofly? haha xD

I'm not sure what to think about all the card game references and how you just stuck in the cat n mouse/3 little pig references between them... but the last stanza really wraps everything up nicely. Mood was on point.

I appreciate that you said Jamhuri, for a couple reasons. First, because after re-reading it with that in mind I understand (quite easily) how you came to that conclusion. I didn't mean it to be entirely like that... I guess that's just how it came out. In all honesty this was probably written within about 10 minutes. I was talking with my girlfriend over MSN, and she had a secret/surprise, and wouldn't let me know what it was, so I came up with a secret/surprise (that was entirely irrelevant I should probably add), in counter-attack.
So, actually, the way you read it would be fairly accurate, considering I never did find out the secret or the surprise, and I was more or less just trying to kill time until I did.
