I think Both Food and Liquor and The Cool are classics. I can listen to both albums beginning to end. That means classic for me.

I can see that to be honest, That's why when I seen people arguing it I didn't say anything in the other thread i thought they both were very good and very close to flawless the production on the cool was better but I didn't really see a real solid argument to say on or the other wasn't classic. especially since I haven't listened to the cool in it entirety in a while but I did that to F&L and when I picked it up again I appreciated it a little more.
Why didn't y'all delete my ugly ass sig while I was gone?

I agree with "Be". I think, minus "Hello Brooklyn" AG is there too. I can't think of much more recently.

    to me,

classic= music that is so good, it can take you back to the time and place it was made...

timeless= music that sounds as fresh as it did 10 years ago...

    Re: The Word "Classic"

    The Cool was sick...
Food and Liquor was dope but was Lupe's first and that's not a bad thing, I actually think that since the album was so good, Lupe IMPROVED upon what he already knew about his shit. The Cool had great content and Lupe's flow was increasingly better on that album

    And to the original post

I feel like classic means that it will stand the test of time, and makes a fucking statement in the way music is looked at from there on to those who hear it.

YES Classic is thrown around too much because of the quality of Hip Hop coming out nowadays. Before I throw out the word classic, I always compare it to proven classic like
"Be" one of my favorite albums that came out in the last 5 years, I also Compare it to Nas, The Black Album.. and the REAL Classics of my time. Once I look at it in that respect, It's a pretty clear answer of how Classic the album was

And if The Cool wasn't classic (Which IMO I feel it was), and Lupe continues to improve upon his skills his next album will most definitely be a classic.
