or the 410 if you can't find the 610 cheap enough. The 610 is much better tho.
Is a mixer not required? Or does that interface do everything i need it to do?
Plus, how does it plug in? USB? what connections do i need?
the 410 and 610 are both firewire... if you don't have a firewire card, you can pick one up for dirt cheap... I got mine for like 8 bucks a year ago... and you won't need a mixer unless you're recordin' several mics at once...

Is it USB? Sorry for the questions, just need to be 100% sure on my investments.
no... it's firewire...

how do you install a firewire card btw. is it just a plug-in type thing? like into the back of the comp? or open it up and do it?

yeah, it just snaps in like ram or a usb card does... open the case, pick an open slot, stick it in... windows usually will recognize it automatically...

they're discontinued. You can still get them very cheap on ebay.
beware of cheap firewire cards. Don't buy a firewire card without a Texas Instrument chipset to avoid any compatibility issues. My stock firewire port on my ASUS workstation motherboard wouldn't even work with my 1814. I had to get an aftermarket card. Cost me like $70 for a god one. I put them in all the Studio PCs that I sell tho.
good point ^^^... I didn't think to mention that, but I do remember readin' about it before I bought mine...
