Golden Script Championship
Nique vs. Evolve
This match-up had everything required to make a blockbuster week one championship match. Nique and Evolve are two of the greatest writers in the SS and yet neither one of them dropped anything worthy of the champ match. But, it’s hard not to understand where they’re coming from. School/Work/Family/Friends all got in the way and prevented Evolve from even showing, causing Nique to post only what was needed at the very last minute. In the end Nique retained her Golden Script Championship increasing her overall “Weeks as Champion” to 2, only to sign out for spring break. I’d expect her back within the next few weeks, and be sure – she’ll bring the same ol’ fire we’ve come to expect.
Silver Script Championship
Born to Kill vs. Baron P. Mortuus
This match-up was one that I thought very appropriate for the Silver Script, both have established themselves as prominent writers and both have been capable of bringing some really good material. This week, wasn’t much different. It seemed like Born to Kill is venturing away from his standard rhyme scheme, you can tell, the flow faltered in one or two areas but you can see the bone-work or frame; once he has the rhythm down he’ll be an even better writer than he already was. This being said, Baron P. didn’t have much chance. He came with a decent verse, but with Born to Kill’s originality while writing about something everyone seemed to agree was real – Baron P’s decency wasn’t enough to grab the title. In the end Born to Kill retained his title and added another notch to his belt.
