    I thought the same thing too--that Catcher in The Rye was one of the greatest books ever written.

    Then I realized that I read it because I had to in school--and it turned out to be a pretty good book.

    I like gritty, real-life like books, movies, etc.

    Of Mice and Men was one of the main books I read when I was in school...
    And to tell the truth...I just! read Catcher and the Rye and finished it a couple days ago....rofl it's a pretty good book...The kid in that book is a major horn-dog...lol
