now I have never designed a webpage before, and don't really know the best sizes, this isn't complete, nor the right size? iunno that jpeg is 950x630 but the header and footer are more or less done, any tips?
the beautiful graff is due to a flick i got of bernz, a NZ graff artist. it's banging.

I think maybe make the background splatter more opaque, as to not take away from the footer.

cmon any crit's, my mate said put a opaque full map of NZ in the BG, kinda digging that ida, haven't tried it yet. drunk fuck as, dont mind spelling.

It's a bit simple, the top half is nicer than the bottom, the re sizing of the graffiti looks funky, the background splats have to be the worse of this, horrible choice in brush selection, the splats look like it was made in mspaint, very pixelated, nice idea, might want to keep working on it, feels empty, to much white, you have the body of your site white, then the background white, makes it feel real empty and unfinished, but keep at it.

This is nice for a first try. I feel like something's missing though. Agree that the top half is better than the second half. And the colors feel a little dull, and opaque. I feel like maybe the background should be black it would make the colors pop a little more, even you brightened them anyway. Is it gonna be a graffiti picture site? Where pictures are gonna be in the body? And I agree about the gray splatters at the bottom and around the sides. Seem a little rough and hard edged need to use different brushes next time. Anyway this is good for a first try, keep at it. Props

Yeah, it's not quite finished. Word, I didn't search for paint splatter brushes for long, haha.
I was thinking of using the feather on the cut then scribble arouunf and set it to disolve.

Flip the header, if its going to be an english language based site the majority of the readers will naturally move their eyes across the design left to right. If you flip the header and put your logo/site name on the opposite side it will give more prominence to the 'brand/name'. Right now the site name just gets lost, the graffiti is already overpowering before even considering how its positioned in contrast to the site name/logo.

Also, get rid of the beveled border and the splatter brushes, change the body bg to black or some type of texture.

I removed the brushes, do you suggest a different border? or none at all? that's just 6, 1px lines of gray i used to create that.
It felt like it was tieing the site in a bit better.

haven't designed the nav bar or content layout yet.
and if I make this, my font choice has to be the basic ones that most people have, aye? baskerville, helvetica, times new.. brah blah blah.

i dont know shit about webpages.. but that one ^^^ is sick, like it way more then the first stuff you posted up..
That one is better, there is just something about the footer that bugs me though, can't put my finger on it. I think its the one pixel line on the left missing thats bugging me..lol
