fuck yall with your quad cores!
i make beats on a wooden table, and record through 2 tape decks, with built in microphones.
I think I've listed my setup a trillion times on here, and nothing has changed...
2 Yamaha 02rs, fantom xr (that i dont use), motif (that i dont use), kurzweill k2500xs (that i dont use), Nuendo 3, A bunch of plugins, Rode K2 mic, some random cad mic with a bottle head, a few more Rode mics that collect dust, a old fender SUNN mixer to track the fantom through to dirty up the sound some, oh yea... dynaudio bm5's and mackie hr824s, dbx 586, eventide eclipse 3 (dust bunny collector that is for sale), lexicon pcm80(more dust, also for sale), alesis 3630 (that collects major dust. also for sale), masterlink 96 (dust bunnys, for sale as well), and auralex treatment in the booth, and scattered in an uneducated fashion around the control room.
need to upgrade the comp, and the interface. Both suck dick.
son sell me the 586!!!!!
K2... HP Pav... single core... what bitches! emu 1820... nuendo 3... waves mercury... some other shit Kris showed me... and fat from Opey's left ass check is surrounding my mic as a baffle.
i wanna see some pics, not only words.
yea... I wanna make a little video tour of my joint but I'm mad busy. plus the screen isn't on the wall yet and the PC isn't loaded up yet. I have a couple odds and ends to take care of before everything is 100%
just take a quick camera shot with your hpone er sumtin.
i like everything to be of epic proportions. lol the only one here that's seen a quick camera shot of the construction is kris. I'll post shit up when it's 100%
alright.
they'll be on studiobulls.com
here's my setup
http://a236.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...4360d64093.jpg
old old pic, but generally looks the same
except now theres a fantom xr on the rack, a kurzweil k2500xs in front of the consoles, we moved to 2 screens, that are bigger in size, and the mackies are next to the bm5's now...
just slight shit
lmao @ the fire hazard goin on under the desk
why do you have 3 screens though.
he's doing a little more than recording verses tho lol
that's a production setup.
... i want 3 screens :(
ooo, whats the point of more than 1 screen though, i mean dont you run 1 thing at a time?
http://www.freewebs.com/sunshinestudio/dualscreen.jpg
^example
but mine would be lcd screens
you can spread one program across 2 (or more)
it makes it easier to do more things at once...
i could have one screen of nothing but the mixer, one of nothing but the multitrack, and one of nothing but effects...
everything accessible all at once.
or i couls have two screens full of the mixer, and one of the multitracking.
or i could have fruity looops open on one screen, rewired into nuendo, which wold be open and stretched across 2 screens...
its just more freedom.
and yea opey, that shit is retarded under the desk, a power conditioner is something we need too. Prolly 2 of em.
i record by
cutting on the consoles, cutting on the computer... pulling up my program i record with, turning my mic up, and recording.
simple
i didnt even take any pics of the booth, or the mic... cuz its really nothing special. That pic is the meat of the studio... as it looked in october 06...
and oh yea, that tascam DAT recorder got put into retirement... lol
that shit sits in a closet somewere in the house now.
yea
best mouse to use for studios imo.
especially when you have limited space. You dont have to move your hand all around, and "reset" your position and all that nonsense. I can use that mouse much much longer than a standard one... plus i dont have to worry about the surface i use it on.
oo i got you.
word i seen them around and just wondered there "usability"
word@ sticky surfaces not mattering
how much those mouses go for anyway?
aint it just like a wirless mouse, or is it?lol
trackball mouses are the same price as other mouses same thing just you roll a ball around instead of moving your hand... its a accquired taste... for audio apps i love it.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...C-R1%20-p8Bypl
you'd obvisly suggest cordless rite?
not really... i dont like wireless mouses and keyboards man, i rather have something that i dont have to worry about charging up every 3 days.
I already gotta charge up my mp3 player, my phone, my earpeice, etc...
why add 2 more things to that list?
lol what you mean, the mouse in your pic doenst look like its hooked up to anything.
it is.
lol
you just cant see it cuz of how the pic is
-my ancient ass Dell Desktop, 256MB of RAM
-MXL 990 Mic
-PreSonus TUBEPre Pre-Amp
Yeah, I've never used the mic or the preamp, I bought them 2 or 3 years ago.
I need a soundboard or a mixer to set it up so all my shit works together and so far I haven't figured out how to go about that.
If anyone wants to help.
also, wireless signals can easily sneak into your audio signals. I switched over to all wired devices in the studio.
I love the trackball mouse too. I have to have the scroll wheel tho. I got the one with the trackball on the thumb and the standard mouse button/wheel setup on the fingers. shit is dope. I wish I could get a multitouch trackpad for my PC tho. the one on my macbook is SICK. you can scroll all around a window by using 2 fingers on the pad and zoom in and out with 2 fingers and the CTRL key. click with one finger, right click with 2 fingers. trackpads usually suck, but I like this one better than any mouse.
I apparently don't have a viable soundcard to plug the pre right into my computer - which is why I'm thinking I need a mixer/soundboard or a new soundcard/interface
an interface will give you better sound quality but you CAN use your PC's soundcard. it should have an 1/8" line in jack. your preamp has a 1/4" line out jack. You need a 1/4" TS cable and an 1/8" TS adapter. go to radioshack.
